Who are Brooke Shields and Amalia Williamson’s characters? You’re killing me?

As previously noted, Shields plays Allie, a long-time novelist whose movie deal falls through at the start of the season. Williamson, for her part, plays Andi, a twenty-something podcaster and aspiring writer whose podcast has brought her fame but a reputation she doesn’t want.

“Well, the clash of heads made it really interesting because you have two generations, very different, and they can learn from each other,” Shields said at the meeting. You’re killing me premiere on the red carpet. “She makes fun of me, I make fun of her, and that’s where the dialogue starts, and it’s funny, you know what I mean? It’s funny to watch not take those differences so seriously, but actually learn from the other.”

For her part, Williamson pointed out that Andi and Allie “need each other to be successful in all areas of life,” despite their differences.

“I think she has a really hard time at first, just because of the generational differences,” Williamson said Hollywood life. “Her mother left when she was so young, so I think she finds Ali’s character really annoying at first, but then she realizes that she’s exactly what Andi needs in terms of her career, in terms of her romantic relationships, and then in terms of a motherly figure.”

If you’re a mother or a daughter – or better yet, both – you can’t help but enjoy the witty chaos between Shields and Williamson in You’re killing me.
