The cast of the Hallmark Channel time-travel drama series The way home thanks fans for their support ahead of the series finale on June 21. The way home premiered in January 2023 and has since become a popular Hallmark Channel series. Despite this, the network made the decision to cancel the show and announced in November 2025 that the fourth season would be the last.
The way home tells the story of the Landry familywhose lives are drastically affected by a mysterious pond on their property that allows them to travel through time. The history of the Landry, Goodwin and Augustine families is told through the characters’ journeys through various time periods, including the early 19th century, the 1920s, the 1970s and the 1990s. In an Instagram post, some cast members from The way home shared their gratitude to their fans for their support over the past four seasons. Andie MacDowell (Del Landry) said: “Fans have been so great for this show.” Chyler Leigh (Kat Landry) said: “Thank you so much for being with us and sharing the love. We definitely felt it every step of the way.” Spencer MacPherson (Jacob Landry) stated: “I want to thank you all for watching The Way Home. We sincerely appreciate it.”
MacDowell also expressed her gratitude to the fans who took the time to try and pick the pieces off The way home mysteries together. She said: “I’m so grateful to the fans and how much they care and how hard they look for all the clues. They inspire us all the time.” Evan Williams (Elliot Augustinus) added: “Thank you for journeying with us.” MacDowell agreed, saying: “Yes.”
The Way Home Fans want the series to be renewed
In the comments section of The way home post, fans had strong reactions, with many of them saying they didn’t want to see the show end. They want the Hallmark Channel to add a fifth season or Netflix, which also airs the show, to pick it up. One fan said: “There’s no way this story can be over; there’s so much more to happen. I really wish it wouldn’t end. It’s such a great show.”
