
Page Six Hears That PR Guru Ron Berkowitz Is suing a group of three restaurants that count the kitchen stars Masaharu Morimoto And Robbie Felice Among its chefs – reportedly for nearly a quarter of a million dollars in unpaid fees.
Neither Felice nor Morimoto are defendants in the lawsuit.
Last July, Montclair Hospitality Group hired Berkowitz’s Burke Communications for its publicity and public relations work.
Shortly after, MHG—which already had two other Asian-inspired spots, Annie Ramen and Pasta Ramen, in Montclair, NJ—opened Nobu alum Morimoto’s MM restaurant in the tony Garden State bedroom community.
According to court papers filed in New York County Supreme Court, the group agreed to pay Berkowitz – who represents the owner of the New England Patriots robert craftmaster fanatics michael rubin and yankee great alex rodriguezAmong others – $20,000 per month for six months, plus additional expenses, plus a $5,000 per month fund for “food, beverage, catering, or other hospitality services.”
The deal stated that the contract would be renewed for another six months unless cancelled.
According to the papers, the group stopped making payments in January this year and stopped responding to emails about the missing cash until March.
Now Berkowitz’s lawyers say the company owes him unpaid fees, $20,000 for every month still left on the contract, $60,000 for the food and beverage fund, interest and now legal fees — which totals $180,166.
Annie Ramon opened in the Essex County city – home to many New York athletes and frequented by celebrities from the “Real Housewives.” Justin Biber – since 2014, and pasta ramen exists since 2021.
