Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have fans talking after the boxer revealed the name of his second child on his shorts ahead of his fight with World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall.
The couple decided to name the baby Midas and the reaction was mixed. One wrote: “I really love the name Molly Mae and Tommy gave their baby. Really great name!”
Talking about the price of the stream, one joked: “I’d pay £15 for the name Midas.” Another referred to the song Midas by British band Wonderhorse, saying: “Not Molly Man n Tommy Fury’s Son is named after a Wonderhorse song.”
King Midas is a character from Greek and Roman mythology who could turn everything he touched into pure gold.
The name was revealed during the Saturday midnight pay-per-view boxing The broadcast stream on DAZN, with Molly among the celebrities at ringside in Manchester. One joker posted: “Why are all these people fighting over the Molly Mae baby name reveal?”
In March Molly-Mae told fans that she and Tommy had chosen a name, saying: “I think we’re pretty much settled on a name now, which is crazy.” She added, “I also can’t wait for everyone to hate it.
“Obviously it’s a different name – we would never call our baby a normal name, it was never going to happen. I’ve only heard of one other baby being called this name. I can’t wait for everyone to probably hate it and be like, ‘What?'”
