“People are like ‘It’s not Friends Island’ but it’s Love Island and Friends Island at the same time. So I think when you have a sibling, you’ll never go against each other.”

He added: “You will always protect each other and then you will also protect each other’s couple and interests, so that’s always an advantage.

“Plus they both have someone they can get real opinions and advice from and someone they really trust whereas everyone else has to build trust with someone. You find your comfort there.”

The Murphy brothers’ mother, sister and brother appeared on spin-off show Love Island: Aftersun on Sunday (June 7) and chatted to the presenter. Maya Jama About Aidan and Kwan’s adventures in the villa so far.

His mother admitted that she finds it “weird” to see both of her sons on screen, confessing: “I don’t know (how they got on Love Island). It’s as much of a shock to me as it is to everyone else. It was a surprise, I only found out a little while ago.”

She continued: “I’m enjoying it. Although there are moments when my toes curl, I’m not going to lie. I’m their mother.”

When Maya asked the Murphy matriarch about any pearls of wisdom she would share with her boys, she wasted no time in giving the couple a stern message.

“Kavan is very mature for his age. Even more mature than Aiden,” he said. “Aidan, calm down. Sort this out.” Turning his attention to Kaavan, he warned: “Do not follow in your brother’s footsteps and do not turn away from him.”
