EastEnders fans are convinced a familiar face is returning after leaving Albert Square 20 years ago
EastEnders fans are convinced that a former resident is returning to Walford, and the character will be recast.
As a fan of bbc soap will know, Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) Returned last year after the breakup of her relationship with Spencer Moon (Christopher Parker) while he was living in Australia.
Vicki wasn’t alone, as she also had a new man, Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw), along with her crying teenage son, Joel (Max Murray). Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) soon reveals that Vicki had broken Spencer’s heart, Who was still recovering from her new engagement.
Last month, Vicki’s affair with Jack Hudson (James Farrar) was exposed at her wedding to Ross, and Alfie couldn’t help but comment about her previous relationship. Alfie had also recently left the Square to meet his younger brother, Spencer, who was still struggling to get over Vicki’s betrayal.
Spencer was played by Christopher Parker, who appeared in the BBC serial from 2002 to 2005.
He was involved in a number of high-profile storylines during his tenure, from getting Vicki (then Scarlett Alice Johnson) pregnant after a one-night stand to being blackmailed by Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).
Spencer had to exit off-screen, with his family explaining that he had moved to Australia to live with his second cousin.
Despite his exit 21 years ago, he continues to be mentioned two decades later, and fans think the character is being prepared for a return – but they’re sure he’ll be recast.
Taking to Reddit, a eastenders Explained: “Spencer Moon – Alfie has mentioned her a few times recently, and now he’s also having a relationship with Vicki and Ross. Weddie has also teased that he wants to break out the Moon family unit, so that’s a strong possibility.”
Another suggested: “Spencer’s rebuild seems inevitable”, while a third said: “I’m really surprised it hasn’t happened already.”
“Spencer, Spencer, Spencer, Spencer, Spencer! I want that Spencer. They have to be completely revamped, since Ozzy is a lawyer now, but I’ll never understand why they invented Ross’s character instead of introducing a new Spencer with a new Vicki”, one soap fan explained.
“Spencer will definitely be back with a fresh head, and potentially Cindy Jr. too,” added another.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One and iPlayer
