Days of our Lives: Joy Faked DNA Results – Alex Isn’t the Father in Shocking Gold-Digger Twist!

Days of our lives delivers Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) tells her baby daddy, Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson), a grand old insurance story. So was it legal? Or is it just the beginning of Joy digging her claws into Alex having family money, though Titan struggling right now?

Before we get into the red flags surrounding Joy showing up with Kelsey and what she’s been up to since then, let me set the scene.

Days of our lives: the insurance story and suspicious timing

So recently Alex was in for a big scare when Joy called him in a panic from University Hospital and he hung up without waiting for details and just brought it out of his apartment. And that left his wife Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) wondered what was going on and Alex didn’t write any follow-up details.

And that worried Stephanie. And when her mother Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) came by with cakes, Stephanie told her about the. So Kayla called the hospital, found out there was no emergency, and told Stephanie, who was immediately suspicious. But I kind of feel like Kayla violated HIPAA with that call. I mean, it wasn’t okay.

Alex the Terrified on DOOL

Meanwhile, Alex rushed over to the hospital, afraid that little Kelsey was seriously ill or injured. And his baby’s mum Joy explained it wasn’t an emergency, just a routine visit for vaccinations. But the reason she called Alex in a panic was financial. So Joy was upset that she owed money for that visit and the previous one. And she told Alex in New York that her father is a doctor, so it sounds like she might be on his cover. But in Salem, Joy is off the grid. Her insurance didn’t cover it. So she had to pay out of pocket.

And Alex was relieved about that was just that little thing. He assumed it was a medical emergency for little Kelsey. And then Alex was a little annoyed that he felt he had been misled into thinking it was a medical emergency. And to be fair, she never said that. And Joy reminded Alex that he hung up on her before she could explain exactly what was going on. So he promised Joy that he would pay the bill. And once Kelsey’s birth certificate was changed to put Alex’s name on it, he would put Kelsey on his insurance plan.

Days of Our Lives: Red Flags and Gold Digger Theories

And many fans see red flags in this whole deal with Alex and Joy. Basically, ever since she appeared, there have been questions. And of course Jeremy Horton (Michael Roark) was the one who asked her to come to town. And since Joy’s arrival with Kelsey, I’ve seen comments on social media that many fans think Joy is looking for a meal ticket for her and Kelsey. And we do know that her mother Nancy and father Craig paid her way. They provided for Joy and Kelsey’s every need since she was still living in New York. So far, though, Joy hasn’t really asked Alex for a dime.

And when Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) asked Joy if she was looking for one payday she assured him that was not why she had come. But honestly, that’s what any gold digger would say, right? First it was the insurance, and the next could be Joy complaining to Alex about her housing situation. Currently, Joy and Kelsey have a room over Brady’s Pub, but it is a room for a single mother and a baby. Not much space. And as Kelsey grows, it becomes an even tighter area for her and her mother Joy.

Joy manipulating Alex on days?

So we could see Joy mention to Alex that it’s cramped above the pub and not really the best place for a baby who is quickly turning into a toddler. And Joy can be manipulative, even suggesting that her mother’s place back in New York has more space. And of course that would make Alex panic about losing everyday access to Kelsey. And then maybe he can get Joy an apartment close to him. Or Alex might even suggest the Kiriakis mansion as a better place for her and Joy since there’s plenty of room there. I mean, a mansion is a gold digger’s dream home, right?

Plus, if Alex suggests an apartment in her building, Joy can remind him that she can’t be around trigger-happy Stephanie. And this week Days of our livesAlex’s wife makes an empowering decision. So she can start getting self defense lessons, martial arts lessons from Tate Black (Leo Howard). And Joy can claim to Alex that she’s worried that Stephanie might physically attack her because of this.

Days of Our Lives: Paternity Issues and DNA Conspiracy Theories

You can see on social media that fans believe that Joy is not only looking for a payday, but also wants Alex to herself. And a faction of fans believe Alex isn’t even Kelsey’s father. So the DNA test said Kelsey is Joy and Alex’s baby. However, Joy could have had help rigging it up.

After all, her father, Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas), is a doctor, so she could have used his medical expertise to help her cheat the test. And there’s always Jeremy who could have helped. He was the one who planned to bring Joy to Salem to try and break up Alex and Stephanie. So Jeremy might have expected out how to share the DNA results.

There are even some fans who believe that Joy and Jeremy might be Kelsey’s parents. If you remember, Joy told Stephanie and Alex that she wasn’t pregnant. And then she went back to New York. It was March 2025. She could have hooked up with Jeremy and gotten pregnant right away. We heard Nancy Wesley (Patrika Darbo) lecture Joy about her loose lifestyle.

Joy had no qualms about almost joining Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) the first day she was in Salem. So it’s not a stretch to think she’d leave Salem, maybe a little annoyed with Alex, and she might have been hooking up with Jeremy, whose father, Mike Horton (Roark Critchlow), dated her mother, Nancy. It’s not that far off.

Days of Our Lives: Joy may not be sure about Kelsey’s paternity

However, we do know that Joy was pregnant before she left Salem and lied to Alex and Stephanie. But she could have miscarried and then hooked up with Jeremy and gotten pregnant. I mean, this is days where they do resurrections and demons. But it seems more likely that Alex got Joy pregnant as he is frustrated that Stephanie is not ready to be a mother and may never be.

But there’s also a chance that Joy got together with someone else in Salem at the same time she got together with Alex. According to Nancy, her daughter is promiscuous. So Joy might not know who the father really is and decided to cheat the test if it wasn’t Alex. Her mother Nancy can be devious and manipulative. So maybe Joy was the same way and honestly got past it from her mom.

There is also an off chance that Johnny is the father. I mean, it sure seemed like Joy and Johnny did the deed, but then they both claimed they stopped before going all the way. But maybe they didn’t stop and Joy agreed to lie down at Johnny’s request to save his marriage.

Possible outcomes and medical crisis on DOOL

In the end, Joy might be trying to get Kiriaki’s money, regardless of whether Alex is Kelsey’s father or not. And it looks like the most likely outcome is that Joy actually got pregnant with Alex. But anything is possible. It’s a soap. Baby switching, baby DNA, all that is everyday stuff.

And in the summer campaign, baby Kelsey seems to have a medical scare of a kind. And events like the one with babies having a medical crisis tend to lead to dramatic outcomes. You know, there are diagnostic blood tests that could show that Alex is definitely not the father.

Maybe there is a blood type or DNA problem. Another outcome could be that the medical crisis unites Joy and Alex, pushing Stephanie aside while Alex and Joy take care of their daughter. So we’ll see how it goes.
