Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer still have to answer for an unpaid tax bill
Ryan Edwards and his ex-wife, Mackenzie Standifer, have some big bills to pay, even though a judge approved their divorce nearly a year ago. According to the American sunthe former flames owe nearly $300,000 in unpaid taxes. The unpaid bill, which stems from unfiled income tax returns from years earlier, first came to light during the former couple’s divorce proceedings. In a 2025 lawsuit, Ryan alleged that Mackenzie failed to file their 2020 and 2021 taxes.

At the time of their divorce, Ryan claimed he had no idea how much money was owed in taxes as he did not have access to 1099 forms for the years in question. The failed filing apparently included income from Teen mom OG. Ryan and Mackenzie, along with his parents, Jen and Larry Edwards, were paid by MTV to appear on the series in 2020 and 2021. All four were fired by MTV in March 2021, following a series of disturbing events.
Ryan and his parents eventually returned to the series after Ryan and Mackenzie split and he completed a court-ordered rehabilitation program. Mackenzie did not appear in the most recent iteration of the series, and it is unclear what exactly their appearances were made in 2020 and 2021. Ryan admitted that he made $35,000 per episode during his most recent stint on the series.
A Messy Divorce by Mackenzie Standifer
The tax bill is just the latest issue in the couple’s very tumultuous split. While the couple married in 2017, their marriage was marred by Ryan’s substance abuse and complicated family dynamics. Despite this, they welcomed two children together before finally calling it quits in 2023.

The breakup did not happen quietly. Ryan was arrested for destroying Mackenzie’s home, and later entered a court-ordered drug rehabilitation program. Their divorce remained unresolved for months. Finally, in August 2025, with a planned second wedding in the works for Ryan, the couple have completed their split. However, that did not happen neatly. New wife Amanda Conner’s legal troubles
While Ryan Edwards still has some unfinished tax matters to settle with his ex-wife, he also has another marital problem that needs his attention. The tax news came just weeks after Ryan’s new wife, Amanda Conner, was arrested in Chattanooga, Tennessee, for drunken driving and child abuse.
