Amanda explained that while they were living apart, she wanted to feel like Kyle was “trying everything he can to fight for this relationship and that you don’t want to lose me.”
“Okay,” replied Kyle.
Earlier in their conversation, Amanda confirmed that she’d received the keys to her new apartment – a furnished property with a one-year lease, whereas she’d initially planned on a month-to-month setup – and that she’d be moving in that week.
“This has not been an easy decision for me,” Amanda claimed to Kyle. “The reason I feel like I’ve been able to get through this is because I’m really hoping that this move will make a difference in our relationship.”
When Kyle asked if he’d get the keys, Amanda said “no”, but reminded him that she would keep her keys at her place.
“You tell the front desk you’re coming to see me. Then you go to the elevator, push my floor and go up. You don’t need keys,” Amanda explained.
Kyle described the situation as “Uncharted territory,” wondering if Amanda would “warn” her when she was coming. She agreed, saying she would text before she arrived.

Kyle and Amanda later outlined their guidelines for staying apart while still living together, with Amanda saying, “I think we should be at each other’s places at least twice a week.”
She also wanted to continue weekly couples therapy, telling Kyle, “I think that’s going to be our saving grace.”
Kyle, for his part, completely agreed.
