Prince Harry And Meghan Markle were recently dealt a major blow by the royal family after it was revealed that the palace plans to remove any ‘trace’ of them from Frogmore Cottage.
The royal couple from Montecito had made some personal changes to the house, which was gifted to them by Queen Elizabeth II after their marriage; However, there are reports that there are plans to return the home to how it was before the Sussexes moved in.
Insiders claim Prince Harry and Meghan were surprised by the new development, especially as it shows their rift with the royal family is far from being resolved before the Duke returns to Britain.

Prior to Harry and Meghan’s family life in their $29 million Montecito mansion, the royal couple lived in Frogmore Cottage.
Although they initially kept the property following their highly publicized departure from their roles as working royals in 2020, the house was officially taken from them three years later.
King Charles eventually requested to leave the residence permanently, especially since Harry and Meghan rarely used the location due to their increasingly sparse visits to the United Kingdom.
The place was then offered to the disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor after he was evicted from his luxurious Royal Lodge, but the former Duke of York turned it down.
Now the house is facing major renovation plans that could completely rid it of Harry and Meghan’s influences, in the hope that it would become more attractive for other members of the royal family to stay there.
“It’s been empty for three years. Even Andrew (Mountbatten-Windsor) didn’t think it was good enough for him to move in,” a source said. Closer online. “Maybe if they remove every trace of Harry and Meghan, someone within the royal family will take a liking to it.”
The Sussexes are angry about the latest development with Frogmore Cottage, insiders claim

While the palace’s reasons for wanting to renovate Frogmore Cottage are not clear, insiders claim that this has left Harry and Meghan feeling humiliated and distressed, with the Duke in particular seeing it as a “personal” affront at a time when he is making efforts to reconcile with the royal family.
“This is a huge slap in the face for Harry,” a source told the publication. “Here he is, putting all his energy into creating a path where he will feel safe bringing his wife and kids to England, and just when he’s confident he’s making progress with his dad and has something worked out for the summer, it turns out that all the wonderful updates they’ve made (for Frogmore) are being ripped apart.”
“Why shouldn’t they take that personally?” the source continued: “He accepts that it’s not theirs, but at the same time he does feel a sense of ownership and attachment to it.”
“The Queen gave it to him, and he and Meghan put their heart and soul into making it a beautiful home, so that’s obviously upsetting,” she added.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have spent a significant amount of money renovating Frogmore Cottage

Harry and Meghan carried out major renovations to Frogmore Cottage after moving into the house as a newlywed couple.
The five-bedroom property was built in 1801 for Queen Charlotte and is a Grade II listed building, which in Britain means it is of special historical interest.
Immediately after their wedding, Harry and Meghan reportedly wasted no time in turning Frogmore Cottage into a home to suit the Duchess’s tastes, converting it from five residential units into a huge family home. The couple also overhauled the property, installing a yoga studio, a custom £5,000 ($6,705) copper bathtub and bespoke interiors.
The Sussexes ended up spending around £2.4 million ($3.2 million) to give Frogmore Cottage a makeover, an amount they paid back amid criticism that the renovations were taxpayer-funded.
Prince Harry reportedly feels the decision to undo his and Meghan’s work on Frogmore Cottage ‘makes no sense’

Insiders claim Harry was stunned by news of the royal family’s move to undo the work he and Meghan had done on Frogmore Cottage, a move he reportedly believes “makes no sense” due to the high cost it has cost them.
It is also being seen as a sign that the monarchy is truly over with the Sussexes and does not want them back into the royal fold, despite Harry’s very public calls for reconciliation.
“He and Meghan both believe it is being done out of pettiness because it doesn’t make financial sense,” an insider said. Closer. “They’ve spent a lot of money making the place more modern and liveable; Harry says the only reason he sees for taking it apart is to avenge them.”
The source further noted that Harry “fully believes there are people in his family who orchestrated this to deliberately hurt him, whether they want to admit it or not.”
