P6: Will Prince Archie and Princess Lily meet their Welsh cousins next month?

With all this talk of Prince William’s tantrums, irritability, and anger, it’s easy to overlook how miserable this whole thing is from a family perspective. Despite William’s violent hatred towards his brother and sister-in-law, it’s incredibly sad to think that the Wales and Sussex children will basically never get the chance to hang out with their cousins. It would be very easy for William – since he is the one holding all these “complaints” – to simply say something along the lines of “Even though I have a problem with Harry, I still want our kids to meet and spend time together.” I don’t blame Princess Kate for this either, although it’s clear she never encouraged her husband to bury any hatred or choose a more mature path. So here we are… Diana’s youngest son is bringing his family to the UK, and at least King Charles is doing the right thing and planning to spend some time with Archie and Lily for the first time in four years. But William doesn’t want to see his nephew and niece, and he doesn’t want the cousins to meet.

Busy schedules will likely prevent Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children from reuniting with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children during the Sussexes’ upcoming UK visit. Royal commentator Amanda Matta tells Page Six “there’s no indication” that Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, will cross paths with Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8.

Matta explained, “Even if relations are slowly improving, the Wells family likely already has a full schedule for the summer, and any reunion involving the cousins will require a lot of planning and goodwill from all parties involved.”

The “Off with Their Heads” podcast host explained that tension between the brothers and their wives could be the “biggest obstacle” to a cousins’ reunion.

“Especially if Katherine was involved in any potential scheme,” Matta said.

Royal reporter Emily Nash tells Page Six that it’s “too early” to say whether the cousins will get together, but she doesn’t expect a reunion to happen during this trip. “I mean, you never know. If it was part of a broader family celebration, it’s possible they were in the same place at the same time,” Nash said. “But, you know, given the very dysfunctional nature of the relationship between William and Harry, I don’t see them rushing to spend time together just because Harry is back in the UK.”

When asked if the feuding princes wanted their children to know their cousins, Nash responded, “I think it’s that kind of question. I think, basically, here you have two brothers who weren’t talking to each other. This is an important relationship that really needs to be resolved before anything can happen.”

However, at the core of their family dynamic, Nash believes William and Harry ultimately want their children to have a bond. Nash said, “In any family, you would expect cousins to have a chance to spend time together and grow up together, and I’m sure they wouldn’t feel any different.”

“…The Wells family likely already has a full schedule for the summer…” As soon as the kids get out of school, they all move to Norfolk. That’s the only thing on the agenda. Their only big event in July is to bring Charlotte and George to the Wimbledon men’s final, and the kids probably won’t want to come this year either because their favorite player (Carlos Alcaraz) is still out with injury. It’s not about the kids’ busy schedules, it’s about William being awesome and Kate enabling him. I always said that Charles’s behavior towards his grandchildren was shameful, but William’s refusal to even acknowledge his niece and nephew is just as bad.
