Britney Bakeer’s support for Germany turned into an international debate as fans around the world rallied behind their own teams.
Britney Baker chose a World Cup team and immediately discovered that international football loyalty is not an optional subject.
On June 8, the social media star posted a clip Facebook with a simple question: “Am I supporting the right team? 👀”

Judging by the black, red and gold face paint on her cheeks, the German sweater tied above her jeans and the sea of matching flags surrounding her, most fans thought the answer was obvious. However, the comments section had other ideas.
English supporters lobbied for the Three Lions. A Spain fan advocated for La Roja. A Dutch follower mourned that she had singled out the Netherlands’ archrival and then vowed to support her anyway. Votes poured in for Brazil, Scotland and France, along with more than one wounded “Why not Argentina?”

The Germans were of course delighted. “From a fellow German, the answer is yes,” one person wrote, while others welcomed her as if she had just scored the winning goal.

It is not clear exactly what connects Baker with the four-time World Cup champion, but this is not the first time she has come to cheer. In recent weeks, she appeared in a knotted Nationals top at a Brave game and a yellow Villarreal jersey during a rainy match against Valencia. Whether it’s game day content or just a highly dedicated sports era, the attacks keep coming.

The timing doesn’t hurt. The World Cup runs until July 19, which means the tournament has barely started. Many famous faces have also already contracted the fever, including OnlyFans creator Yanet Garcia, Croatian model Ivana Knoll and Brazilian influencer Carolay Chaves.
Germany, meanwhile, has given Baker a pretty good reason to remain loyal. The team opened with a 7-1 win over Curaçao, followed with a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast and will face Ecuador on June 25.
