Alex Cooper denied that she and husband Matt Kaplan are having problems in their marriage after rumors suggested the two were dating were on the verge of splitting.
Kuiper, from whom pregnant with their first child togetheraddressed the rumors head-on during her “Call Her Daddy” podcast episode Wednesday. Kuiper talked about her and Kalpan’s appearance on the red carpet last month at the 2026 YouTube Upfront, where she talked about how she was worried people would find out she was pregnant, but the status of their marriage was all anyone was talking about.
“The only rumors that actually came out of the carpet were how miserable my husband and I looked,” Cooper said. “To see people overanalyzing Matt and I as we seriously tried to hide this pregnancy, I was so relieved that they were talking about our dynamic, our alleged marital problems, and no one was talking about a possible bump.”
She added, “It was a victory for the Cooper-Kaplans that day.”
Cooper, 31, insisted she and Kaplan, 42, were not on the verge of splitting up.
“You read those things, and Matt and I are like, no one in our lives, our best friends, our family, questions those things,” she said.
“It’s crazy to see the internet saying, ‘Oh my God, they’re on the rocks.’ And we say, ‘Wait, wait. We are? What’s going on?'” she continued. “I think that’s a strange part of the job that I don’t enjoy.”
Cooper said fans shouldn’t worry about her and her husband, bluntly noting that they are “amazing.”
The couple tied the knot in Mexico in April 2024. The Daily Mail reported last month that the two were experiencing “tension” in their marriage and were sleeping in separate bedrooms.
An insider told the outlet that the couple’s “tension” had increased before Kaplan was accused of berating and threatening staff at his and Cooper’s production company, Unwell Network, in a bombshell Bloomberg report published in April.
According to the source, Cooper had difficulty dealing with the fallout from the allegations against her husband.
“This is Alex Cooper’s biggest fear: bad press,” the insider claimed. “It’s important to her. She always wants to be in control of the story. She’s insecure and murderous at the same time. She doesn’t really have that many friends.”
The couple did not address the rumors at the time, although they shocked fans when Cooper announced she was pregnant on May 17. The podcast host shared photos of her beaming as she showed off her growing baby bump, captioning the photos on Instagram: “Our family 🤍,”
