Post Malone is two stops on his BIG ASS Stadium Tour: Part 2. The crowd of people is much greater than the poor ticket sales proposed.
Although there are still many empty seats in the 200 and 300 levels, there are no gaping holes.
It will be interesting to see if this trend in concert attendance continues over the next few weeks. People need to buy tickets!!
Post Malone and Jelly Roll are still struggling to sell tickets.
If you have been comes with BroBibleyou know i’ve been obsessing over this story for months. As a huge Post Malone fan, I was shocked by the extreme lack of ticket sales for his second stadium tour. Almost each place in the calendar had to be 75%+ empty from the end of April. It got there Posty actually had to postpone or cancel the first few dates in the midst of a bad case of ‘Blue Dot Fever’.
He claimed the decision to cancel was due to his desire to release new music before his tour, but we now know that wasn’t true. The trip is underway. The new album ‘The Eternal Buzz’ hasn’t dropped yet. It’s on its way.
Although new music was promised, ticket sales did not improve during the month of May. The the number of seats listed on Ticketmaster presented a troubling reality per June 3. The majority of the tour was not sold out. To is still the case today.
This is the current scene for East Hartford on June 22:

Here’s what it looks like for Tampa on July 8:

Both of these graphics are troubling. I would even go so far as to say that the lack of ticket sales is catastrophic. Neither of these two venues is able to host a concert. No one would be in the crowd…
Although this issue is not specific to this trip, I am intrigued by the amount of unsold seats. What gives?
Maybe people are burnt out on Post Malone’s country music era. Maybe people don’t like Jelly Roll. I really don’t know. I would assume the answer is much more simple. People are not willing to pay such a high price for concert tickets. It’s too expensive.
And yet, each of the first two stops of the BIG ASS Stadium Tour: Part 2 was pretty well attended.
The audience has been SO much better than expected.
Post Malone and Jelly Roll took over Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on the 1st night. The tour is a massive production.
Here’s a good look at the crowd in Charlotte all evening:
As you can see, the stadium was not full. The concert was not sold out. There were quite a few empty seats. However, it wasn’t nearly as bad as the blue dots on Ticketmaster suggested, and it was on a school (work) night.
The tour stop in Indianapolis served as a better barometer. It took place on Friday at Lucas Oil Stadium. Here’s a good look at the introduction to Posty’s set:
You can still see a few empty spaces in the background.
Especially in the 200 and 300 sections.
But most of the stadium was full!
Post Malone even took a moment to admire the amount of people who showed up.
I could imagine it was partly a huge sigh of relief after months of stress over the ticket sales. The audience has been so much better than I expected. Sponsors should be happy for now. Turnout for Charlotte and Indianapolis was pretty solid.
But will this trend continue? Ticket sales are still worrying for the upcoming dates. Follow along.
