Popular parenting influencer Jamal Morton is mourning the unimaginable loss of his youngest child.

Morton shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional Instagram tribute, telling his millions of followers that he was stepping away from social media while he mourned.

Morton wrote, “I lost my daughter.”

“She thought she was a big girl and could swim alone. She ran out of the house and went to the pond where she drowned.”

“Losing a child is a pain I wouldn’t wish on even my worst enemy. I hate to post this but you all won’t be seeing me for a while. I have to take a break.”

He continued with the heartbreaking message to his daughter.

“I hope heaven is real because I can’t imagine you being alone. So God, if you’re real, please take care of my baby. Rest in peace, my sweet angel. Daddy loves you always, Rose.”

The influencer, who has amassed millions of followers on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook through comedy videos and parenting content, often features Sade Rose in her social media posts.

According to the fundraiser shared after the tragedy, Morton and his wife Jessica said they plan to move because living in the house has become too painful.

Morton asked supporters for help with funeral and relocation expenses, writing, “We have to move because we can no longer live in that house and I don’t think I will ever be able to work.”

Sade Rose was the youngest of the couple’s nine children.

Photos shared by Morton in recent months document milestones like her second birthday celebration as well as taking her first steps.

Just hours before the drowning, Morton had posted a Father’s Day tribute that included his children, including his youngest daughter.

“On behalf of Jamal Morton and his family, we want to thank everyone who has offered prayers, love and support during this incredibly difficult time,” a statement posted to Morton’s Instagram page on Friday said.

The statement continues, “The Morton family is deeply saddened by our loss and respectfully asks for privacy and compassion as we navigate this moment together.”

“While Jamal has publicly shared much of his life as a creator and influencer, it is important to remember that behind the content is a real family experiencing real pain.

“At this time, a large amount of speculation and misinformation is circulating online. We urge the public and media to refrain from sharing unverified information. Any false or defamatory reporting can be addressed through appropriate channels.”

Our thoughts are with Morton, his wife Jessica and their family during this incredibly difficult time.
