Although the American series belongs to a similar genre to Love Island, some viewers believe that it forces the contestants to actually explore genuine romantic connections rather than remaining in friendship pairs until the final.

One fan shared their verdict on Reddit: “I just watched season two on Netflix and it’s what I always wanted love island Happen. People are actually socializing, working, partying… Instead of people being monitored if they dare talk to a person, they have been ‘paired up’ for a day.”

He added: “I think LIs need to watch shows like this and implement some things. Encourage them not to pick a person at the beginning and then relax for weeks.”
