Christina Riccis bond with her ex-husband, James Heerdegenkeep up with more legal drama.

The actress’ former flame recently filed for an emergency hearing over their custody situation, which has been a consistent source of contention between them.

Heerdegen dragged Ricci back to court over their custody arrangement by filing a request for an emergency hearing. He did so after his son, Freddie, contacted him to report his mother’s alcohol consumption during their flight to Canada on June 16.

While Heerdegen painted a picture of a concerned parent trying to save his child from an adverse situation, his son shared a different tale. The minor’s lawyer, per TMZclaimed that Freddie had “overreacted” when he texted his father about Ricci’s drinking.

The legal representative argued that because Freddie had overreacted, his “description of Ms. Ricci’s alcohol consumption and behavior thereafter was not as he had described.” In addition, the legal documents filed on the minor’s behalf stated that he has “no fear of continuing to be” in his mother’s custody.

In his request for a speedy hearing, Heerdegen asked the court to order Ricci to undergo alcohol testing, but his petition was denied. The court ruled that any specific records of the plane incident he intended to file must remain closed to public access.

The case was made private after Freddie’s lawyer argued that “there is a real threat that public access to the statements and records could endanger the stability of Freddie’s mental health.” The new legal drama follows Ricci’s recent remand.

The “Wednesday” actress claimed her custody battle with Heerdegen ruined her reputation in Hollywood. The explosion shared that she pleaded with the court to compel her ex-husband to grant her request to take their son to New York for a work-related project.

Ricci gave her text messages with Heerdegen to argue her case, revealing that he initially claimed he had no problem with the trip. But his tune changed after the TV personality sent a proposed settlement to Heerdegen through her lawyers.

The entertainer’s former flame reportedly responded with his rejection, accusing her of “emotionally abusing” their son. Ricci described his behavior as “vindictive and vindictive” and claimed he was “more focused on harassing and punishing” her than Freddie’s best interests.

Ricci and Heerdegen’s marriage ended in 2020 when she filed for divorce. A year later, she filed for a domestic violence restraining order and accused her ex-husband of physical abuse. She claimed she endured “severe physical and emotional abuse”, with “many of these acts of abuse” occurring in the presence of their son.

The entertainer shared her story in the Hulu documentary “Child Star,” revealing that she grew up with a narcissistic father. She described him as a “failed cult leader”, recalling how the peace she never got in her “very chaotic home” could be found on set.

“I knew there wasn’t anything crazy going on (when on set). Nobody wanted to get really mad and pretend they drove a car into a wall,” Ricci shared. She described acting as a “refuge of emotional safety” which protected her from her “physically abusive” father.
