Donald Trump assured Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson that he would avoid Iran war – Report

Despite his apparently aggressive stance toward Iran, Donald Trump apparently convinced Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk that he will not wage war against the Middle Eastern nation. A recent report has claimed that the president gave his word to the duo to practice restraint against his urge to attack Iran, before ultimately going back on that word.

New book allegedly claims Donald Trump’s insurance to Tucker Carlson

According to a forthcoming book written by New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, POTUS once assured both the famous political commentator and the Tesla boss that he would not declare war on Iran during an Oval Office meeting with the two.

The book noted that while Tucker Carlson had been critical of Donald Trump, “the latter sought (redacted) Carlson’s advice, believing he still held sway over a significant portion of the base,” as per The Guardian.

“Carlson had criticized Trump for refusing to topple (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu over the carnage in Gaza; now he would make it clear to the president that a wider war would be his undoing,” Haberman and Swan said in their report. “They want you to go to war with Iran,” Carlson said. “We don’t,” Trump replied.”

In addition, Trump reportedly told Carlson, “I don’t think there has ever been a president of the United States as powerful as I am.” This prompted the far-right pundit to reply: “‘Certainly not since FDR. Really, the only thing that could destroy it is war with Iran.’

Furthermore, Haberman and Swan’s book mentions how Donald Trump “regaled” Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk with lengthy details of damage caused in the 2024 pager blast attack orchestrated by Israel. A golden pager gifted by Benjamin Netanyahu to Trump allegedly “transfixing” the tech mogul.

Entitled Regime Change, Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan’s work will be published in the US on Tuesday. In addition to covering the dynamics surrounding Donald Trump before he declared war on Iran, the duo’s comprehensive report also includes detailed excerpts of Situation Room meetings regarding Jeffrey Epstein controversy, as well as alleged attempts by the Republican leader to suspend legal rights during the height of his immigration crackdown.
