On June 18, the 56-year-old artist jokingly asked if the POTUS’ son would fight him in a cage. He also addressed the issues with the recent UFC Freedom 250 event.
“Cage match between me and Don Jr.? Your call on the venue. Anywhere but the South Lawn,” Hunter Biden wrote in a X (formerly Twitter) update. The 56-year-old’s joke was part of a long post he wrote on Joe Roganafter the latter criticized opponents of the UFC event at the White House by asking them to “shut up.”
Biden noted, “My problem is that I believe some of our public spaces are sacred. And unlike many of the great powers that have come before us, these American monuments belong to all of us. Not to whoever happens to be in power right now. The White House does not belong to Donald Trump.”
Hunter Biden claimed as much then Donald Trump only held the UFC event at the White House to claim that the iconic establishment was his home and he could use it for any purpose.
“To treat it the way Caesar treated the Colosseum goes against everything our founding fathers fought for,” the former attorney continued. “This is not Rome. Presidents are not emperors handing out bread and circuses to the peasants. The White House is the People’s House. This ‘celebration’ could have taken place in any stadium within a stone’s throw of the South Lawn. No one would have had a problem with it.”
Biden added: “The fighting was an exhibition of imperial domination, not a celebration of our 250th anniversary as a democracy… The White House is ours. All of us. The person sitting behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office is nothing more than an honored guest. A temporary caretaker.”
Notably, the UFC Freedom 250 event took place on June 14, on Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.
